To Reach The Old Inn By Car:
From the A 30 west bound, exit to Cheriton Bishop, Drewsteignton and Castle Drogo. Turn left at Crockenwell and follow signs to Drewsteignton.
From the A38 take the A382 through Bovey Tracy and Mortonhampstead, turn right at Sandy Park. Continue past Castle Drogo and follow signs to Drewsteignton.
As we are on the edge of a moor a car is the easiest way to get to us. Unfortunately, public transport is not great, so if you are not coming by car the quickest and easiest way to reach us is by taxi from Exeter, though there is also an intermittent bus service.
Trains to Exeter:
As always book way in advance for the cheap rates:
- From London and East England: First Great Western and Megatrain offer cheap bargain tickets
- From Birmingham, Northern England or Scotland: Virgin Trains
As alternatives to Exeter, Newton Abbot & Totnes are also good jumping off points for Dartmoor.
Taxi from Exeter:
Ring Charlotte on 01647 281276 and tell her when you are due to arrive and she will pre-book a taxi to meet your train / plane. We hope to secure a fixed rate of around £20 each way from the station.
Bus from Exeter:
The Travel Lines SW website will allow you to plan your journey from anywhere in the south-west to Drewsteignton. There is a direct bus from Exeter to Drewsteignton, the 173, which takes just over 50 minutes, but it only runs three times a day.
